2020 Idaho Officials Training Opportunities

We need you to keep the sport of lacrosse growing. To continue to grow the game, one of the big needs in all areas is officials. Please consider becoming an official if you have ever played the sport, reffed another sport, or want to learn a new hobby. Various local officials associations will be hosting training in the coming months. Choose one of the following opportunities.

Boise Men's and Women's Officials Training

February 22 | 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM | Boise State University

This men's game training is for new and returning officials and the women's game training is only for new officials. The events will take place in the Multipurpose Classroom Building at Boise State University. For men's game training visit the the Idaho Lacrosse Officials Association website or contact Jeff Crowell for more information. PLAYER ASSIGNMENTS, ARE YOU PLAYING FOR THE CORRECT TEAM?

Player Assignment...If you have a concern that enforcement of this will reduce your numbers to an undesirable level you should be working to resolve now!  Your acknowledgement of the understanding of this rule will be required.  As a suggestion, it would be a good agenda item to discuss at your next player/parent meeting, if someone is misaligned now is the time to make the correction.

Current general guidelines governing Player Assignment (Proposed amendment pending that will further define):

  • Player plays for the school he attends, if that school doesn't have a program then,
  • Player plays for the school he would otherwise attend based on school board boundaries, if that school doesn't have a program then,
  • Player plays for the school nearest to his residence and within the same school district boundary, if that school doesn't have a program then,
  • Player plays for the school nearest to his residence as determined by "as the crow flies"
